The Space Between (Stimulus and Response)
KWA Pictures Cinema Collection • 5m 32s
“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.” Viktor Frankl
Most of our responses to various stimuli are reactions rather than appropriate responses. Our lives are made up of billions of milliseconds where these reactions occur. Each of those reactions then leads to a cascade of events, which we collectively or as individuals have largely initiated, and is otherwise known as "our lives".
If we change those reactions to appropriate responses based upon the anticipated reactions to our responses, we take control of our future; We can control many of the outcomes.
It is my hope that by stunning you with unexpected stimuli at rate too short for you to react (1/24th of a second) an embrace this space between will occur. Demanding a little more time to examine other stimuli in your life and eventually begin responding much more and reacting much less. Taking more control of various situations toward the outcomes you are seeking.
